Our strategy
In three strategic focus areas the Alliance demonstrates how regenerative construction can fully leverage its socio-environmental and competitive advantages:
-
undertaking scientific research on the availability of wood from sustainably managed forests, on the long‑term carbon‑dioxide‑removal potential of wood construction, and on pathways to provide adequate and affordable housing through performing and competitive building systems while maintaining and enhancing forest ecosystems and biodiversity.
Topics: sustainable wood availability, building systems, optimal value chain, etc.
Key actors: scientific community, specialized media, initiatives promoting wood construction, forest managers and owners, developers, architects, planners, and manufacturers. -
gathering and aligning stakeholders and partners behind the key messages of the Alliance.
Topics: discussing scientific findings through, e.g. interactive formats.
Key actors: NGOs, international organizations, governments, private sector, and forest managers and owners. -
positioning sustainable forest management and wood construction in a contemporary and fact-based way.
Topics: economic viability, technical performance, climate and nature protection, social benefits, etc.
Target groups: construction sector, finance and insurance, governments, NGOs, the public.
The Alliance’s partners share the common goal of promoting timber construction as a climate solution. This requires using wood from sustainable managed forests to ensure that the practice does not lead to deforestation or other negative socio-environmental impacts.
