How we work together
IIASA
IIASA acts as the scientific lead of the Alliance. It is responsible for the independent execution of research, as well as the development of methodology and the formulation of results. Further IIASA is responsible for:
the day-to-day management of the Alliance’s activities, ensuring smooth coordination, effective implementation, and reporting of Alliance objectives, with sole supervision of staff involved in scientific work, communications, and operations;
the liaison with Partners through preparing, organizing, and facilitating regular Alliance meetings, including Steering Committee and Advisory Board meetings; and holds a permanent seat on the Steering Committee.
Represents SITCA and communicates its messages (i.e. through SITCA Secretariate)
Financing Partner
While Financing Partners are primarily represented by private sector entities, public sector institutions and other types of organizations can also participate and play a financial role in supporting the Alliance.
Provide direct financial contribution enabling the Alliance to carry out core activities and ultimately deliver on its mission.
Contribute services such as data acquisition, communications, and the organization of meetings as appropriate.
Have a seat on the Steering Committee.
Enter into a contractual agreement with IIASA, and commit to vision, mission, goals and core principles of the Alliance.
Accepted by the Steering Committee.
Financing Partners contribute at different levels.
Scientific Partner
The Alliance will bring together leading scientists from various research disciplines. Scientific Partners are research institutions, universities, scientific networks, and individual research groups that contribute to the objectives of the Alliance through scientific expertise, research collaboration, and knowledge generation.
Contribute scientific knowledge, research capacity, data, methodologies, and analytical expertise relevant to the Alliance’s objectives.
Participate in interdisciplinary and multi‑stakeholder research activities, including task forces, working groups, expert meetings, workshops, and webinars.
Support the dissemination of results through scientific events, conferences, and other relevant platforms.
Associated Partner
Any organization or stakeholder with an interest in the Alliance including research, business and industry, policy, intergovernmental organizations, NGOs, media and others.
Support the Alliance through expertise and engagement, but do not provide direct financial contributions.
As appropriate, contribute knowledge, data, research capacities, networks, policy support, dissemination of results and communication activities.
Participate in working groups, exchange formats, and project-related activities.
Receive visibility proportional to their contribution.
Can hold a seat on the Advisory Board of the Alliance upon invitation by the Steering Committee.
Sign a letter of intent, and commit to vision, mission, goals and core principles of the Alliance.
Ambassadors
An individual, expert, or community leader – who publicly represents and promotes the Alliance to increase its visibility, credibility, and reach. Ambassadors are committed to:
the vision, mission, goals, and core principles of the Alliance.
promoting the long-term central role of wood construction in repairing the climate, improving livelihoods, and protecting and restoring ecosystems and biodiversity.
